Top 11 Disney’s Animal Kingdom Snacks

I also love snacks! The Animal Kingdom features some unique snacks beyond traditional park-fare while still accommodating even the eaters’ pickiest.

Below are some of my favorite snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that I can’t wait to enjoy again!

Starting Your Day

What started as a half-day park for many, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has come into its own category for entertainment and attractions, making it a must-do area.

What I love about this park is the immersion. From the floating mountains to the street signs to the ancient statues that grace the lands, you feel as if you are not in Florida. (Maybe not even on Earth at times!)

Soft Serve Waffle Cone – Anandapur Ice Cream Truck (Asia)

One of my family’s go-to stops for snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the soft service ice cream from Anandapur Ice Cream Truck.

In fact, when we started planning for our upcoming trip, I was asked if we could visit this ice cream truck specifically.

Nestled between Asia and Africa along the main pathway, this unassuming vehicle gives some surprisingly large ice cream portions served in a waffle cone. I feel this snack is a sweet treat and one of the most significant values of the park, considering the portion you are served.

A Side Tip:

Anandapur Ice Cream Truck is also one of my most recommended parking spots to get free water. While all quick and counter-service restaurants offer free water to guests, I have consistently received huge water cups with ice.

Frozen Coca-Cola® – Drinkwallah (Asia)

I like to take my time in the parks and sip on a refreshing adult beverage or two.

You may even spot me at one of the lounges near Tiffins or Tusker House taking a break from the crowds.

One of my favorites is Frozen Coca-Cola®. This drink turns a classic Captain Morgan and Coke into a summer slush delight.

Pulled Pork French Fries – Flame Tree Barbecue (Discovery Island)

As far as quick-service restaurants go in the Disney parks, Flame Tree Barbecue is one of my favorites.

You will find this spot on the walkway between Discovery Island and Dinoland, U.S.A.

If you enjoy a good barbecue, you may fall in love too.

A favorite of mine when I am feeling extra indulgent is the pulled pork french fries. I mean, how can you go wrong with fresh french fries topped with pulled pork and drizzled with cheese?

Colossal Cinnamon Roll – Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery (Africa)

Wandering through the parks can cause some serious hunger. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is no exception.

The Colossal Cinnamon Roll at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery in Africa is a fantastic treat that you can share with (at least) two people.

While it is a pretty standard-tasting cinnamon roll, I adore this morning Animal Kingdom snack for the value.

Pork Egg Rolls – Yak & Yeti™ Local Food Cafes (Asia)

I have spent many of my days in the parks. Whenever I was in Disney’s Animal Kingdom I found myself getting the pork egg rolls from Yak & Yeti™’s quick-service location outside of the restaurant.

They are hot and are a very popular snack amongst guests with them being made several times a day.

If I wanted something light to tide myself over between seeing the Festival of the Lion King and riding Expedition Everest, the pork egg rolls were my choice.

I heard that Yak & Yeti™ Local Food Cafes are now serving breakfast! I will definitely have to make a stop to check out some tasty breakfast snacks.

Macaroni & Cheese – Eight Spoon Café (Discovery Island)

If you are looking for something familiar, the macaroni and cheese at Eight Spoon Café is an awesome option.

This food kiosk is located on the pathway between Discovery Island and Asia.

You can choose the standard macaroni and cheese or bring out your inner explorer and try one of their specialty options!

Cake Pops – Creature Comforts (Africa)

Pink cakepop and a parrot cakepop

While it is not the most adventurous Animal Kingdom snack on this list, cake pops are able to satisfy my sweet tooth without having to spend a ton of money.

You can find themed cake pops at Creature Comforts, Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s STARBUCKS® location.

You may have to wait in line to get your snack as this is a popular location.

I suggest making it a worthwhile stop by grabbing a tasty espresso drink to pair with your cake pop. My favorite STARBUCKS® drink when I visit the Disney parks is the Zebra Mocha!

Souvenir Popcorn Bucket

My favorite Animal Kingdom snack is popcorn.

Popcorn buckets are double as a treat and a souvenir.

Many of the buckets you can find across the Disney parks are themed and are only around for a limited time.

You are able to refill your popcorn bucket for around $2 each time throughout your stay, so you can have a quick snack wherever you are.

I still have my popcorn bucket from my first Walt Disney World trip in 2014!

Nomad Sliders – Nomad Lounge (Discovery Island)

For those looking for a little more upscale snack beyond the basic park-fare, visit the Nomad Lounge outside of Tiffins Restaurant.

While Tiffins is the signature dining restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Nomad Lounge offers many of the same items from the restaurant without having to make a reservation.

Share a plate of the Nomad Sliders with yucca fries and a crafted libation or two.

A Side Tip:

This does come vegan style with the Impossible Burger!

Ice Cream Sandwich – Tamu Tamu Refreshments (Africa)

Florida is hot.

While I love Walt Disney World, I do not always love the heat. One of my best and most favorite ways to get a quick cool-down is an ice cream sandwich.

No matter where you are in the parks, this is what I look for on a hot day.

You cannot go wrong with two giant cookies with a heaping spoonful of hard-serve ice cream.

Better yet, if you are a Lion King fan, head over to Tamu Tamu Refreshments for an ice cream sandwich inspired by the movie.

Chicken Bowl – Satu’li Canteen (Pandora)

Chicken and Rice with sliced veggies

Satu’li Canteen is a great option for those visiting Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

I love Satu’li Canteen because they can accommodate a variety of dietary options, including having food options for those with gluten, milk, or soy allergies.

The chicken bowl is what I would consider more of an entree than a snack given the size and price; however, it is definitely an enjoyable choice if you are looking for a meal to tie yourself over for hours.
